The work
What it is
PATAY GUTOM is a serial of security-camera horror films set at real Philippine places. Every shot is somebody's screen: a mall's CCTV, a control room, a phone live. The dead are drawn to red light, a bite turns in seconds, and each episode leaves one thing unexplained.
It began as film five of the what-if simulation series and became its own serial. Episodes have been set at the EDSA busway in Ortigas, on MRT-3, and at NAIA.
How it is made
Every frame is a pure function of time in a code-built 3D scene, so the same film rebuilds identically on any machine. There is no generated video: the camera, the crowd behaviour, the CCTV overlay, and the grain are all drawn by the engine.
That is also what makes the format work. A horror beat can be tuned like a parameter, and a place only needs its geometry, signage and light described once.
What shipped
- CCTV, control-room and phone-live framing at real Philippine locations
