The work
What it is
Hearing Lab works through Philippine Senate hearings and produces content people can check: verbatim quotes, highlight clips, and plain-language explainers of the legal claims being made.
It is receipts-first. Every quote is timecoded, and the source video sits next to the claim rather than behind it.
How it is made
Long recordings are transcribed, speakers are separated, and claims are pulled with their timestamps intact. Then an editorial pass turns the selected moments into clips and explainers.
It is slow on purpose. The constraint is not speed, it is whether a reader can verify the line themselves.
What shipped
- Verbatim quotes with timestamps back to the source video
- Highlight clips for the moments that matter
- Plain-language explainers of the legal claims
